Educational Excursion to Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata

The Department of Mathematics organized an enriching educational excursion to the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata on 14th February 2025 for Class XI students. A total of 71 students, accompanied by 4 faculty members, participated in this insightful visit.

The journey began with an interactive session by Dr. Sumitra Purkayastha, a senior professor at ISI, who spoke about the history of ISI, the importance of Mathematics and Statistics, and various academic courses like B.Stat & M.Math. The students then explored the ISI library, diving into a treasure trove of knowledge.

A major highlight was the Geology Department, where students witnessed the fossilized bones of Barapasaurus Tagorei and learned about Geology as a career.

The excursion was a truly inspiring experience, enriching students with knowledge and curiosity for academic excellence!
