The Mathematical Eloquence 2025: A Celebration of Knowledge & Expression

The Department of Mathematics at G.D. Goenka Public School, Dakshineswar organized an exciting Mathematics Speech Competition on 30th January 2025, exclusively for Class XI students.

This inter-house competition witnessed brilliant speeches on topics like Mathematics in AI & Machine Learning and Interdisciplinary Applications of Mathematics, with an enthusiastic audience from Class IX. After an intense battle of words and wisdom, Vivekananda House emerged victorious, also securing the Best Speaker Award.

The event provided a platform for students to research, express, and inspire their juniors, showcasing their eloquence and mathematical brilliance under the expert guidance of faculty members.

Educational Excursion to Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata

The Department of Mathematics organized an enriching educational excursion to the Indian Statistical Institute (ISI), Kolkata on 14th February 2025 for Class XI students. A total of 71 students, accompanied by 4 faculty members, participated in this insightful visit.

The journey began with an interactive session by Dr. Sumitra Purkayastha, a senior professor at ISI, who spoke about the history of ISI, the importance of Mathematics and Statistics, and various academic courses like B.Stat & M.Math. The students then explored the ISI library, diving into a treasure trove of knowledge.

A major highlight was the Geology Department, where students witnessed the fossilized bones of Barapasaurus Tagorei and learned about Geology as a career.

The excursion was a truly inspiring experience, enriching students with knowledge and curiosity for academic excellence!

Saraswati Puja Celebration

The G. D. Goenka Public School, Dakshineswar shone with a bright hue of white & yellow on 3rd February as its students & teachers gathered to celebrate this year’s Saraswati puja in the school premises.
With yet another successful academic year in sight, the school offered its reverence to the Goddess of knowledge & observed the festivity with utmost devotion where nearly 150+ staff members & 200+ students were in attendance. It concluded with the distribution of the sweets & fruits offered to the Goddess with food packets handed out to each & every member present.
